Kitzi's

Some would pass up an opportunity to rehome a senior cat straight up! But in our home with a willing family of adults, a teenager and one aging kind hearted bulldog named Tinkerbelle, it seemed so right to give "Kitzi" a home & family. Kitzi's a 12 year gentle female British short hair, had lost her home, because her past owner moved into a place where Kitzi could not stay with any longer. She is an older cat as we are active adults and is why we got her too like our Belle "settled with life". Kitzi's eyes run a lot and has a slight Kidney problem but she is very loving and so quiet that her nick name is now "Ninja cat". ( She now sports a bell so we can hear where she is ha!) Has a couple comfortable nesting areas and loves her quiet time stretched out. One eye always watching for someone's lap to snuggle into. Maybe taking a chance was crazy or she would disliked or fear Belle? End result we all seemed to have taken on change or a challenge. Its been a little over a month,
between Vets visits, K/D food, eye drops and finding by trail an error she prefers Cat Attract for litter ha! Also, Kitzi never known about dogs before and Belle never known about cats but both are getting to learn about each other by observation and loving care. ("They are 2 peas in ah pot" ... old, sleepy and thribes on attention) I have to say "giving Kitzi a home, was one of our best ideas as a family" ♥Highly Recommended

Hello from Charlie

We've had our baby Charlie for over a year and wanted to give a quick update.

He amazes us, and makes us smile every single day. Charlie is SO smart and so loving and I feel like we are the luckiest parents in the world.

He was my support through a deployment, and my entertainment when I'm sad. He's so happy and healthy and so beautiful. He loves to sunbathe, play fetch, and attack our feet, and his new game is chasing light reflections on walls.

I never found put who his foster parents were, but whoever you are, if you see this, THANK YOU.

With love, the Afflerbaughs

MissFortune

My family adopted (MissFortune) Maddy into our home in March 2006. She had been found tied in a tree at 2-3 weeks old. She was rescued and put back together and we were lucky enough to have her become part of our family. Fast forward and she will be turning nine in January. Wow that went by fast. She is still as energetic and loving as ever. I'm so glad she came to live with us!

Pepper (formerly Nickel)

Myself and my boyfriend, Casey are so thankful to have Pepper come into our lives. We got her in August when she was 3 months and she has grown so quickly! It's been great fun to watch her learn and be curious, she makes us laugh every day.

When we first got her, she was very shy which worried us. Now she runs to greet us when we come home and even stands on her hind legs pawing at us until we pick her up and love on her. We've also discovered since having her that she plays fetch! Something she's very good at and will ask you to do with her (usually by putting a toy on your lap). It's very entertaining to watch!

We no longer can imagine our lives without Pepper, we even got her a little stocking for Christmas and she's in our Christmas card. We're lucky to have her and love her so much.

Thank you S.P.O.T. for helping us find her!

Love,

Sarah, Casey and Pepper

Kip (formerly "Jip")

Before adopting Kip (formerly "Jip"), our family of 4 included two high energy kids, one of them being our 5 year old daughter who has always been incredibly drawn to all dogs and their companionship. We felt like it was finally time to begin our search for that "perfect" dog, motivated by her love for dogs, but knowing that with the right dog it would be a happy addition for all of us. SPOT asked us about our family and in turn encouraged us to consider Kip, a 7 year old black lab that they thought would be a great match for what we were looking for. Kip has been with us a little over 6 months now and we can't imagine life without him. He has lost about 20 pounds since we got him (which was what the Vet recommended) simply by him running, swimming, and playing with our kids every day. He doesn't care for toys, all he wants is to be with our family every second possible. My daughter spends a part of every day loving on him and his patience with the love she has to give him is
unreal. She loves to snuggle with him any chance she gets. He has not, not even once, gotten up to go to another room to get a momentary break from her company. They are two peas in a pod and the love between them melts our hearts on nearly a daily basis. Our 7 year old son has formed a special bond with him too and they had an especially good time this summer swimming in the river and with our son throwing a stick for Kip to retrieve in the water over and over again. The only time we have heard Kip bark is when we were not throwing the stick back in the water for him fast enough! My husband and I are equally smitten. I work from home and so get to spend lots of quiet work days with Kip at home. He is a great companion that way. We take him hiking in the Columbia Gorge and Forest Park trails (in Portland) many weekends and this is where we definitely see the puppy still in him, bounding through the trees of the forest. He seems to just get more youthful the longer he is with us.
It's honestly hard to imagine our life without him in it. Thanks for helping to make the perfect match for us! We never expected to adopt an "older" dog, but would do it again in a heart beat. All of our friends and family say over and over again how he is the Best Dog Ever. He truly is.

Love at first sight

We adopted Turbo just a few short weeks ago. Since he was raised in a foster home with dogs, he and Zoe (our 6 month old lab) became fast friends. This is how we've found them after day 1 and sure they will be for many years to come. Thanks to Teresa and SPOT for helping us find the perfect fit for our family.
